Day 4: Retreat Through Connection

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting with a newfound friend. She is an entrepreneur, wife, mother, and podcaster. Most of all, she is a connector. As we conversed and chatted at a local chocolate cafe, we realized one thing: Women are hungry for connection. I then came to the conclusion that it is imperative to retreat through connection.

When we get out of our own routine and agenda and enter into another person's life, it offers the opportunity to retreat through connection. Our focus shifts from ourselves and onto another. We mentally retreat.

One way to retreat through connection is to position ourselves to connect. Volunteer at one of your favorite local organizations. Join a small group in your church or religious affiliate. Join a Meet-Up group and venture out and meet new people. Attend a conference or workshop. Get involved in a workout class.

Each one of us longs to connect. It is one of the best ways for us to retreat. A face-to-face conversation can do wonders for us physically and mentally. It allows us to blossom and is a reminder that retreating isn't a solo event. Why do you think that retreat trips involve a group of people? We are meant to retreat through connection.

How do you retreat through connection? What is your favorite way to connect?
